Blind Dragon, located on Sunset Strip in the former Chi Lin space next to what is now ROKU.
From the garage, you’ll enter through a shipping container, into a walk-in fridge, through the kitchen and… into an opulent opium den. Hanging Chinese lanterns and two of those crazy butterfly windows from Chi Lin loom over red sofas, black lacquer screens, lots of lush plant life and a mini Mao. At some point, though, the odds are strong that you’ll end up in one of three more shipping containers. These ones are leopard-carpeted. These ones are the karaoke rooms.
Blind Dragon, the name is a Chinese twist on prohibition era illegal establishments known as a ‘Blind Pig’ or a ‘Blind Tiger.’ The name evokes a modern risqué speakeasy, a hidden joint, a ‘Blind’ spot from the law, where ‘anything goes’.
Here, the cosmopolitan elite enjoy exotic Tiki cocktails and revel in the opulent lounge with a vintage soundtrack provided by stylish DJs. Impromptu live music performances feature as the guests indulge into the feverish night.
A modern, Far East-inspired take on the speakeasy, Blind Dragon is a style-saturated venue featuring an intimate cocktail bar, an opulent lounge, and a private “Opium Den.” The space’s mystical décor favors vivid red and gold accent furniture and hanging lanterns balanced by green plants for a touch of zen. Plush velvet couches and funhouse mirrors provide a luxurious yet whimsical aesthetic. Conveniently located on the Sunset Strip, The Blind Dragon hit LA’s nightlife scene with a bang, attracting A-listers, including Lindsay Lohan, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Miley Cyrus, and Cara Delevigne.
